Safety Tips
Last updated: April 06, 2024
At Vivah Sangam, your safety is our top priority. While meeting new people can be exciting, it’s essential to exercise caution when interacting with someone you don’t know. Use your best judgment and prioritize your safety, whether you’re exchanging initial messages or meeting in person.
Online Safety
Never Share Financial Information or Send Money
- Never send money through UPI, bank transfer, or any other means, even if someone claims to be in an emergency
- Be wary of anyone asking for money for “urgent medical treatment,” “customs clearance,” or “travel expenses”
- Never share your bank account details, UPI ID, or credit/debit card information
- Report any requests for money to Vivah Sangam immediately
- For information about avoiding matrimonial fraud, visit the Cyber Crime Portal of India (cybercrime.gov.in)
Protect Your Personal Information
- Never share sensitive personal information like Aadhaar number, PAN card details, or passport information
- Keep your home and work addresses private
- Don’t share details about your daily routine
- If you have children, avoid sharing their personal information, including names, schools, or photos
- Be cautious about sharing family details that could compromise your security
Stay on the Platform
- Keep conversations on Vivah Sangam until you’re confident about the person

Be Wary of Long-Distance Matches
- Exercise extra caution with profiles claiming to be NRIs
- Be skeptical of anyone avoiding video calls or making excuses not to meet
